Free Yoga Thursdays

5:30 pm to 6:30 pm | Every Thursday

Free yoga at EPMH! Get your Zen on with our hour-long yoga session led by Jose S. Casillas, a retired Army Sergeant Major with 22 years of service as an Airborne Ranger. After experiencing the lasting effects of PTSD, he found solace and healing through yoga and mindfulness practices. Now retired, Jose is dedicated to sharing these tools with his community to promote mental health and well-being. Through workshops and classes, he empowers individuals to find their own path to resilience and healing. Jose's unique perspective as a retired Army Sergeant Major allows him to bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding to his teachings, making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Participants are asked to bring their own mat and bottled water. See you here!

Kimbap being held by chopsticks.Kids’ Table: Korean Kimbap

Saturday, May 10 | 11 AM

Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Island Heritage Month with the Korean American Association of El Paso (KAAEP) and the El Paso Museum of History (EPMH)! In honor of our exhibit “El Paso’s Homegrown: The Korean War,” we will be showcasing Korean cuisine through a cooking demonstration of Kimbap (also known as Gimbap or Korean rice rolls). Kids ages 5-12 are welcome to join us for this FREE hands-on event.

Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis! A vegetarian option will be available.

Kids’ Table is an ongoing series that embraces the idea that so much of history and culture are wrapped up in food, from tracing how ingredients came to be a part of a dish to understanding how and when the dish is typically served. Kids’ Table workshops aim to explore these different meaningful (and delicious!) aspects of food through interactive demonstrations. By bringing together learning about history with hands-on preparation, Kids’ Table workshops help foster cultural exchange and kitchen skills at the same time.
